Picosecond pulse coding and FPGA + ARM processing provide distributed temperature measurement and ±0.05 m event location. A 2.5 km fiber sampled at 0.05 m yields approximately 50,000 points, or 800,000 across 16 channels. Sample count is not the number of independently resolved spatial elements.
Typical applications
Downhole formation analysis in oil wells; geothermal and groundwater analysis; local temperature-rise localization inside lithium battery storage systems; temperature uniformity monitoring for hydrogen production cells; minor liquid/gas leakage detection in pipelines; small hotspot warning for power busbars and utility tunnels; thermal ablation warning for power cables; and small hotspot monitoring for idler bearings of belt conveyors.
The measurement core is independent of the external PC operating system; internal circuits are conformal-coated. An internal Windows industrial PC is optional for local display.
Spatial resolution, sampling interval and location accuracy are distinct quantities. Temperature accuracy depends on fiber length, acquisition time, temperature range and cable configuration; optimum values are not necessarily simultaneous.
